True Freedom!

September 11th, 2007

Last week, we learned that God made a profile for each of us, and He says that He made each of us marvelously (Psalm 139:13-14)! We also have a hunger and desire  to truly know who we are and why we’re alive. The answer is found in God who created us and loved us! This week, we discovered that who we are and why we’re alive has to do with true freedom. And God made a way for us to be truly free — to have a ‘whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more of life on the way’ (Romans 6:22-23)!  Jesus Christ has made this freedom possible! He offers real life here and now! And that life becomes tangibly expressed in community together with others, as we experience God’s love for us.

Continue to take in what we learned by going to Mission Control at http://www.agapechurches.org/missioncontrol/

Come and experience this together with us!

Romans 12:1-3

March 12th, 2007

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you:

Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.  Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. I’m speaking to you out of deep gratitude for all that God has given me, and especially as I have responsibilities in relation to you.

Living then, as every one of you does, in pure grace, it’s important that you not misinterpret yourselves as people who are bringing this goodness to God. No, God brings it all to you.  The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what he does for us, not by what we are and what we do for him.

God is doing wonderful things among us as we continue to enter ‘His Space’! Let us continue to enter, by fully embracing what God is doing for us! May God also give us the heart and mindset that we do not bring this goodness to God. No - He brings it ALL to us!

Lord, lead us to honestly and soberly understand who we are and what we do for you only by what You are and by what You do for us! All praise to our glorious God!

We Are Seekers!

February 5th, 2007

The Spirit of God has been moving us to pray! God has been increasing a greater desire for Him, for His Kingdom within us, and to seek this through prayer. We’ve been sensing this more and more in our hearts as we come together as His church, in small groups, large groups and prayer meetings.
We know what God wants us to go after - “Seek the Kingdom of God, above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” (Matthew 6:33). And the Lord tells us that we can receive it through prayer. From God’s Word, we have the certainty of God’s promise that He answers the prayers for His Kingdom! We are so blessed!!

Do we want to learn how to really pray? YES! Do we want to experience breakthrough when our prayers seem to be going nowhere, and truly meet God and be changed in prayer? YES! Do we want to receive healing, forgiveness, and revival of hearts for us and others? YES!
The Lord tells us how, and it comes with His promise…

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for.  Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matt 7:7-8)

The Good Shepherd is with us!

September 27th, 2006

There was a mighty king who had everything at his disposal…yet he needed his Good Shepherd. We have the same shepherd. He is Jesus, the Good Shepherd, who laid down His life for us. Jesus knows you by name because you were meant to live life to the full with Him. He is with you and leading you…it is good to need Him and follow Him. Do you need the care of your Good Shepherd today? Do you need assurance of His secure love in your life? Do not be afraid. Do not shy away. He is with you. Come near to Him and ask for His care. Read, believe, pray through Psalm 23…we share the same heart cry of this king who needed God’s care.

Psalm 23
1 The LORD is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
2 He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.
3   He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
  bringing honor to his name.
4 Even when I walk
  through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
  protect and comfort me.
5 You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
  My cup overflows with blessings.
6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the LORD
  forever.
