WE ARE Warriors

February 15th, 2007

WE ARE Warriors – battling with the full armor of God.

When fears, doubts, and discouragement come – whatever the battle – let us remember that God says, “You are my warriors.â€Â Â

Ephesians 6:10-11, 13-18 (MSG)

God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way.
Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be standing on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.

This is the truth of who we are in Christ. WE ARE Warriors who through prayer receive His power through humble submission to His Word (His Truth) in our lives. We are to be prayer warriors who will fight for our own lives and fight for others that God loves at AACC.

We are Seekers!

February 9th, 2007

There’s an old song by Matt Redman, Knocking on the Door of Heaven. The lyrics read:

We will give ourselves no rest
Till your Kingdom comes on earth
You’ve positioned watchmen on the walls
Now our prayers will flow like tears
For you’ve shared your heart with us
God of heaven on our knees we fall

Come down in power, reveal your heart again
Come hear our cries, the tears that plead for rain

We’re knocking, knocking on the door of heaven
We’re crying, crying for this generation
We’re praying for your name to be known
In all of the earth

We’re watching, watching on the walls to see you
We’re looking, looking for a time of breakthrough
We’re praying for your word to bear fruit
In all the earth, in all of the earth

We are seekers of God at AACC!
We are the watchmen that God has positioned on our campus. We are seeking for the Kingdom of God. We are seeking in prayer, on our knees, for others to know His love, His healing, His peace just as we’ve experienced. We are praying for REVIVAL and breakthrough to come on our campus!

We will give ourselves no rest until your Kingdom comes, Lord.

We are seekers who will seek you in prayer for your Kingdom come at AACC.
We’re looking for that time of breakthrough!

We are Healed

December 11th, 2006

Isaiah 53:2-6 (MSG)

There was nothing attractive about him,
nothing to cause us to take a second look.
He was looked down on and passed over,
a man who suffered, who knew pain firsthand.
One look at him and people turned away.
We looked down on him, thought he was scum.
But the fact is, it was our pains he carried—
our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us.
We thought he brought it on himself,
that God was punishing him for his own failures.
But it was our sins that did that to him,
that ripped and tore and crushed him—our sins!
He took the punishment, and that made us whole.
Through his bruises we get healed.
We’re all like sheep who’ve wandered off and gotten lost.
We’ve all done our own thing, gone our own way.
And God has piled all our sins, everything we’ve done wrong,
   on him, on him.

Let us continually come to the Lord and be made whole.  It is by His wounds we are healed…  Healed to follow Him in joy and obedience because of His love for us!!!

Let’s finish well this week during Finals.  Study hard!!!

He is Our Refuge

November 29th, 2006

Psalm 91 (The Message)

1-13You who sit down in the High God’s presence, spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow,
Say this: “God, you’re my refuge.
I trust in you and I’m safe!”
That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps,
      shields you from deadly hazards.
His huge outstretched arms protect you—
      under them you’re perfectly safe;
his arms fend off all harm.
Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night,
not flying arrows in the day,
Not disease that prowls through the darkness,
not disaster that erupts at high noon.
Even though others succumb all around,
drop like flies right and left,
no harm will even graze you.
You’ll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance,
watch the wicked turn into corpses.
   Yes, because God’s your refuge,
the High God your very own home,
Evil can’t get close to you,
harm can’t get through the door.
   He ordered his angels
to guard you wherever you go.
   If you stumble, they’ll catch you;
their job is to keep you from falling.
You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes,
and kick young lions and serpents from the path.

14-16 “If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God,
”I’ll get you out of any trouble.
I’ll give you the best of care
if you’ll only get to know and trust me.
   Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times;
I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
I’ll give you a long life,
give you a long drink of salvation!”

We can trust Him and be safe in His presence. We are His sheep, and He is our Good Shepherd! We have nothing to fear for our God, our Refuge, is near.

Let’s hold on to our God, for He is our only refuge and place of safety.  Let’s proclaim:

God, you’re my refuge. I trust in you and I’m safe!”

We are Clean

November 20th, 2006

John 13:6-11

6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”

7 Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

8 “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”
Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”

9 “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”

10 Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.” 11 For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.

God has declared us clean through His Son, Jesus Christ!  Let’s live as His people sees us holy and blameless through Jesus’ blood that made us clean…

YOU ARE MINE

October 31st, 2006

Isaiah 43:1-4

1 But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you.
O Israel, the one who formed you says,
“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.
I have called you by name; you are mine.
 2
When you go through deep waters,
      I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
      you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
      you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.
 3
For I am the Lord, your God,
      the Holy One of
Israel, your Savior.
   I gave
Egypt as a ransom for your freedom;
      I gave
Ethiopia and Seba in your place.
4 Others were given in exchange for you.
I traded their lives for yours
because you are precious to me.
You are honored, and I love you.

Let’s live in this reality this week! For He has called each of us by name!
